HI AND FAIR began fastest, but was lightly steadied when displaced by ALWAYS MOVIN after the opening furlong, then responded when roused in the stretch and won with authority. ALWAYS MOVIN was rushed to the front racing on the inside and opened a clear lead, but weakened in the drive. PEGMURF was hustled along behind the top pair, had to be taken in hand and out slightly lacking room at the head of the stretch, then held on fairly well to outfinish SWOOP DOWN. The latter came to the inside for the stretch run and closed with late speed. CAMEO appeared green and raced slightly wide. MOST ARDENT broke slowly. BRENTA raced greenly. CAROLYN L. rapidly raced to the front while still in hand and opened a clear lead inside the final furlong, but was called upon near the end and just managed to stave off ELRUSA. The latter was alertly ridden from the start to make up ground racing between horses, came outside the winner for the final drive and finished with a rush. THUNDERGUST. steadied after a quick start, raced to the front when ready on the turn, but tired in the stretch run. GOOGIN saved ground and finished well. NOBLE MATEADOR held the lead under urging between early calls and faltered. JER-O-LEE was taken up at the break. HAPPY CARRIER raced between horses into contention at the first turn, gradually raced to the front under steady handling and increased his advantage while being ridden out. LEGAL LARCENY was lightly urged setting the pace for a half-mile and gradually weakened when displaeed. FLAPPER was under restraint behind horses on the final turn and lacked a rally when clear in the stretch. ESAPADE III. was a sharp contender for six furlongs and weakened. HUSH HALL was under a strong pull racing up behind the leaders next to the rail on the turn, rushed through to take command at the head of the stretch and held THE POSSE safe under steady pressure. THE POSSE was lightly urged along in attendance of the pace, drifted out slightly and afforded the winner room at the head of the stretch, then held on gamely. GOSH was under steady pressure showing speed and slightly weakened. ROMAN MIRAGE was not a serious factor. MISS BENZ faltered under steady urging. Scratched— 50260 Royal Viola, 110. TOKYO GIRL saved ground and was well placed from the start, willingly responded when roused for the drive and handily drew out in the last furlong. POOR RUBE was briskly ridden improving position outside of horses, swerved and brushed with CANARY OAKS in midstretch and was taken out, then finished well. DANNY 0. had the most speeds into the stretch and weakened under punishment. TRIPLE BELLS was outrun to the stretch, circled wide and finished with a late rush. CANARY OAKS was tiring when bumped by POOR RUBE at the furlong marker. ZIGGLING was outrun. SONFAR was in close quarters in the stretch. REJECTED BOUND faltered suddenly entering the stretch. TO CASH began alertly and gained the lead in the final sixteenth, drew clear rounding the turn, then drifted out slightly when set down to repulse a challenge from SINISTER in midstretch and again drew away. The latter raced into serious contention under light restraint and loomed formidable, but had to be taken in hand when TO CASH crossed in front of her and she then hung. CLEAR DAWN was liqhtly urged along in the last eighth. CAJOLE made up ground gradually. ERRASINA began fastest, pressed TO CASH for a quarter mile and faltered. FROTH II. raced greenly. TELEPOST was hustled into a short lead on the first turn, withstood a challenge from DEVILS IMAGE on the stretch turn and regained a safe lead for the stretch run. DEVILS IMAGE made an impressive rush around horses from the half-mile marker to be closest to the winner at the three-furlong marker, but then did not have enough left for the drive. SEVEN CHANCES began slowly and was reserved off the pace, then rallied well through the stretch. LAMPO raced well for six furlongs and tired. FAST FIRE gradually weakened after five furlongs.
