Delaware Notes DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June Huahine, a three-year-old daughter of Phalanx, returned to Delaware Park where she won in the C. V. Whitney silks on May 31. Huahine was acquired by Mrs. J. P. Docherty for 0,500 in the recent Belmont Park; sale. The Pittsburgh, Pa., owner also purchased Blue Rhapsody for ,500 from the Maine Chance Farm consignment. To Windward, anotherHVhitney consignee, was purchased for the Keystone Stable account at ,100. The three horses are bedded down at the Stanton course and will be trained by George Zateslo. Smoky Hill, property of I. J. Collins, arrived from Belmont Park and was turned over to trainer Bill Booth. The three-year-old son of Mahmoud and Equidistant, a two-time winner this year, was purchased for 6,000 from, the Whitney sale. Three purchases from the Maine Chance Farm arrived from Belmont Park and were turned over to trainer Mose Shapoff. The acquisitions and their purchase prices are: Royal Suitor, ,,300; Temptress, ,700, and a unnamed filly by War Pippin and Lady Wisdom, ,400. Gary Lavin, son of- assistant racing sec retary Allan Lavin and currently employed at Delaware Park, will enter Oklahoma A. and M. in September to pursue a course m veterinary. Young Lavin graduated from Hot Springs high school. Racing secretary J. Gilbert Haus received word Thursday that Bert Mulhol-land, trainer of Mr. and "Mrs. George D Wideners thoroughbreds, plans to ship six horses here onJVIonday. John H. Clarks-Mabe Cee was transferred to Aqueduct where she is an eligible for. the Astoria Stakes on June 29 The Fighting Step filly finished fourth in the Polly Drummond. Jockey Bill Hartack, leading rider of the meeting, will ride out this week before departing for Arlington Park, where he will handle the saddle chores for the Ada L. Rice Stable, his contract employer. Oliver Cutshaw has been engaged to ride Louis Lee Haggin U.s Smart Devil in the Delaware Oaks. Smart Devil exhibited a nice turn of speed in her first start of the year on Saturday to finish second to Rico Reto. Barclay Stables Blazing Count and Mrs. E. Eugenia Bankheads newly-acquired Jabneh, second and fourth, respectively, in the Belmont stakes, arrived here over the week end.
