Cumberland Fair Association Begins 10-Day Meet Tomorrow CUMBERLAND, Md., June 13. — Approximately 400 horses are expected to be stabled here when Marylands half-mile racing season opens at Cumberland on Wednesday. for a ten-day meet. The two feature races of the meet are the Manley and White Memorials, both handicaps. The Manley is scheduled for closing day, Saturday, June 25, and the White for Wednesday, June 22. • The Cumberland Fair Association has designated inaugural day as "ladies day." Two such days were held here last year and proved popular. | A highlight of opening day will be the ■ awarding of a memorial trophy in the feature race by Edgar and Roger Reynolds. The brothers will present the trophy in memory of their father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Reynolds, who were killed j in a grade crossing crash adjacent to the Cumberland track last July. Mr. Reynolds was general manager of the track at the time of his death. The Reynolds brothers will enter the Army the following day.
