Warners Buy Aga Khan Yearlings, Broodmares Six Well-Bred Colts to Be Shipped Here From Ireland WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., June 13.— Expansion of the activities of theD B L Stables through the purchase, at private sale, from the Aga Khan and the Ali Khan, . of six yearling coits and three broodmares, promises to bring this interesting California turf enterprise into both the racing and breeding limelight within the next few years. The D B L Stables is the racing pseudonym of three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Warner. They are Mrs. Doris Warner Vidor, Mrs. Betty Warner Sperling and Mrs. Lita Warner Hiatt. The six yearlings purchased are alljsolts. They are: Brown colt by Migoli out of Di-ableretta, winner of eight stakes, considered the best filly of her year and a half-sister to the stakes winners Jambo and Nilo. Bay colt by Owen Tudor out of Emali, a stakes winner and a half-sister to the successful sires Khaled and Piping Rock • as well as the stakes winners Lady Electra and Eclat. Her dam is a half-sister to. the outstanding stakes winners and producers Jacopo, Foray n., Black Domino -and Infra Red. . Her dam, Queen of Baghdad, is1 a half-sister to the stakes winner Scots Guard leading sire in Chile, Courier, Queen of Simla and TJsumbura. Bay colt by Blue Peter out of Rose of Sind, a winner and half-sister to the stakes winners Holmbush and Eladalon. Her dam, Seed, is a half-sister to the stakes winners Stafarella, dam of Tehran, sire of Tulyar, and is also dam of stakes winners Sind and Moradabad. Grey colt by Migoli out of Bibibeg, winner and a dam of stakes winners, Bibi, Toorim and Houmyra. Also half-sister to the stakes winners Nasrullah, Nizami II., Malindi, Darbangha, etc. Also to Sun Princess, dam of the stakes winners Royal Charger and Tessa Gillian, and Dodomo, dam of the outstanding stakes winner Di-ableretta the stakes winners Jambo and Nilo. Grey colt by Palestine out of Sunny I Day, unbeaten daughter of Hyperion at two. Also dam of the stakes winner Noory Irish Oaks. The yearlings are being prepared for shipment within the next two weeks and, on arrival, will be stabled at the W. L. Ranch at Woodland Hills. The three broodmares purchased are: River Doree, a bay mare, foaled 1950, by Bois Roussel out of Rivaz, a stakes winner and leading two-year-old of her year. Also full sister to Nasrullah, Nizami II. and Malindi; half-sister to the stakes winner Darbhanga and the noted producer Sun Princess. Debroda, chestnut mare, foaled 1951, by Nearco out of Stafaralla, stakes winner and dam of the stakes winners Tehran, Anwar, Iran, Inshalla, Norooz and Mashallah. Stafarallas dam, Mirawala, is a daughter of Miranda, sister of the great Pretty Polly. Cloudless Sky, chestnut mare, foaled 1951, by Nimbus out of Heavenly Wind. Cloudless Sky is a stakes winner. Her dam, unraced is dam of the stakes winners Avro Tudor, Squall and Paradise Street, and also dam of Monsoon, a win-I ner who is dam of the outstanding Festoon and the stakes winners Refreshed and Serocco. Since DBL Stables also own two shares to Migoli and one share to Tudor Minstrel, the mares will be kept in Ireland with the Ali Khan for next season and will be re-bred to these two sires. When pronounced in foal they will be shipped to California.
