Last Fox Never Headed at Delaware Koko Dozo Second In Two Lea Purse Victory of Boyce Colt Is Second of Three Successes For Jockey Shuk on Program By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 13. — Accomplishing his initial success in a half-dozen starts this term, William G. Boyce, Jr.s, Last Fox this afternoon accounted for the featured Two Lea Purse over David F. Neumans recently acquired Koko Dozo. In third position, a beaten favorite for the fifth consecutive time, was Walter M. Jeffords gangling Policeman Day. Under the skillful handling of Nick Shuk, the winner" covered six furlongs in 1:12% over a good track and rewarded his backers in the crowd of 12,182 with a 5.60 mutuels. Last Fox, a son of Sir Francis, broke well from his rail position and assumed command immediately. After being closely pursued by James A. Bayards Alapocas along the backstretch and around the turn, Last Fox managed to shake off that rival, only to be joined at once by Koko Dozo. Policeman Day, a bit awkward, was having difficulty in settling into stride, but managed to move from sixth to fifth position rounding the elbow. Koko Dozo, who graduated from the maiden ranks impressively in his last start, then was sold by owner-trainer" George Mohr to Neuman at private terms, made a bold bid to engage the leader, then shortened stride, as Last Fox kept about his task in a workmanlike fashion and steadily increased his advantage through the last three-sixteenths of a mile. Policeman Day Moves Policeman Day finally got to running a bit from the head of the lane, but the ground he was able to make up on the leader was negligible. He was beaten almost three lengths for the main share of the spoils and was just a length clear of William G. MacMillen, Jr.s, Taratara, as Alapocas faded to finish fifth. _ Like the feature, the preceding race was for three -year-olds and the winner in come-from-behind fashion was Elvin M. Warners Hand Reward, a true gem of consistency. This Star Reward colt has raced eight times this season and boasts two wins, three seconds and as many thirds. His time today £ts a .60 favorite was 1:13 flat and he held a margin of slightly more than two lengths over Winlochan Stables Jolt, with Walter J. Appels Tribune third. The winning rider was Ovie Scurlock. The fourth race, a six-furlong affair for ,000 to ,000 sprinters, brought about the disqualification of Harbash, after -that Keystone Stable filly had finished first by a neck. Her number wastaken down because she drifted out and interfered with Walter Appels Mid Stream. The latter was placed second following the disqualification, with Andrew T. Schnelzers Dive moving into first position, along with a mutuel of 8.00. Third horse was Rebecca Collins Beckys Shirt. Not only did the Keystone Stable lose the winners share of the purse, but they lost Harbash for ,500 to C-Lamar Creswell via the claiming route. Nick Shuk, who won the feature with Last Fox, and the second race with Allegretto, completed a triple when he accounted for the seventh race with Henry Cohens Tosca, the .favorite at .00.
