BLUE CHOIR moved up strongly nearing the far turn and, finding a wide opening on the inside of SEA 0 ERIN rounding the stretch turn, took command to open up in the eighth, hut was ridden out to the finish, although in no danger of being caught. SMOKE SCREEN improved his position gradually in the last quarter and was going well at the end. SALMON PETER trailed for half the distance and came very fast on the outside in the stretch. SEA 0 ERIN went to the front early to make the pace but tired and drifted out badly in the stretch. TRITIUM had speed to the stretch and then began to weaken. WISE MARGIN was through after making a mild move nearing the stretch turn. CASCANUEZ was in tight quarters on the first turn and again entering the backstretch, but displayed nothing when clear. COUNTY CLARE was close enough for seven furlongs, then began to weaken. BUGLEDRUMS had some early speed. MARK-YE-WELL was badly outrun all the way. SPEED ROUSER took a short lead soon after the start and, although headed momentarily by FOXY NED between, calls around the stretch turn, again got to the front when straightened out for home and resisted a strong challenge from HONEYS ALIBI near the finish. The latter made a strong run on the outside after entering the last furlong and got to the leader in the closing strides, but was unable to hold him. STYRUNNER trailed early but was going well at the finish. FLEET PATH ! was; taken back when in close quarters right after the start and was never dangerous. MOKATUCK was many lengths back of the field in the first quarter and trailed for the first half, then improved his position to come fast in the middle of the track through the stretch and catch CASTLE BELL II. in the final strides. The latter was well up from the start and took a short lead after entering the stretch, then held on well. ARETE set most of the pace but weakened after being headed. CLOSE OUT was close enough early and had no apparent excuse. ACE CAPTAIN was prominent to the stretch, then tired. Overweight— Caboose, 4 pounds; Without Kin, 3. Close Out claimed by Duntreath Farm.
