BOFUS, steadied off the pace in the early running, assumed command on the stretch turn, opened a safe lead in the early stretch and had to be roused in midstretch when CANDLEMAS loomed up on the inside. The latter saved ground along the rail, made a determined bid in the final quarter, then weakened. DENNY closed with a rush. KING MOWLEE was outrun in the early stages and passed tired horses. NIMBLE LADY was close up in the early part and tired. RAZZBERRY was through early. HUNDRED PROOF was never a factor. FRIAR BILL showed little. MILANZA was outrun.
