Bring Six Top Sophomores Together Match races do not always result in a satisfactory manner and what better example of that than when Armed and Assault clashed at Belmont Park in 1947. Assault was not in good condition any more than Sir Barton was when he ran against Man o War in their race at Kenilworth. It would be much better, we believe, if the six best three-year-olds were selected at the end of August and brought together. If that were to come about, it could determine the three-year-bid championship. On Saturday, Saratoga was a romping winner of the Leonard Richards at Delaware Park and hell probably appear against Nashua in the Dwyer. The Montpelier colt was beaten a length by Nashua in the Preakness and prior to that was a neck behind Dedicate in the Jersey Stakes. Despite the fact that Royal Coinage, Blue Ruler and Royal Note, who were third, fourth and fifth on the Experimental Handicap list, have -been on the sidelines, and Summer Tan has joined them, by fall the three-year-old division may present an entirely different aspect. Although Nashua and Swaps are now standouts, there are other good threeryear-olds who will be racing in the many stakes at various tracks throughout the country in July and August.
