Jockey Williams Widens His Lead in Ak-Sar-Ben Rider Race AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 13.— Sonny Ray1 Williams, the Electra, Texas, jockey, has widened his lead in the Ak-Sar-Ben jockey race. Williams, who was Ak-Sar-Bens leading rider in 1952, was up on three winners Saturday to boost his 19-day riding record here to 18 winners, nine seconds and 13 thirds. Under Ak-Sar-Bens system of awarding six points for a winner, two for a second and one for a third, Williams now leads the rider pack with a total of 139 points. Apprentice Lawrence Byers who has twice held the lead during the first 19 days of Ak-Sar-Bens 35-day meeting, is second with a total of 115 points. He has ridden 13 winners, 14 "seconds, and nine thirds. Others among the top 10 riders are; Robert Mundbrf , Robert Ford, Eddie Burns, Charles lies, Gerard Gardiner, Thomas Os-Lment, Jay Fishburn and Fritz Becker.
