r Luciete Registers Easy Four-Length Score in ThistleDown Sprint Feature Defeats Nordcan, Lot-O-BinV To Giye Jockey Paul Ward Days Third Winning Mount By J. K. BATTY Staff Correspondent THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 13. — Taking, command a stride after the start, John Zitniks Luciete tallied easily by four lengths over four rivals who competed for a purse of ,200 in the main attraction here today. Accomplishing the task over a muddy strip, Luciete, also trained by Zitnik, toted jockey Paul Ward to his third saddle triumph of the afternoon, duplicating his feat of Saturday. A hard-hitting five-year-old daughter of Grandpal — Easter Moss Luciete arrived at the end of five and a half furlongs with four lengths to spare over Nordcan, owned in partnership by I. R. and F. Wills. Broadmoor Farms Lot-O-Bim finished third another two and a half lengths away and her rider, Hubert Trent, claimed foul against Nordcan promptly after the dash. After viewing the films, the stewards awarded Lot-O-Bim the place position and relegated Nordcan to the show spot. ► — Luciete, who won half of her 14 starts last year and made it two for three appearances this season with todays conquest, paid .20 as a heavy favorite with the throng of about 5,000 fans and she was timed the five and a half furlongs in 1:09%. The fifth race resulted in a close finish when Sussex Circle just lasted to stave off Moose Eye by a head margin at the conclusion of six furlongs. Sly Wink, who made the pace most of the journey, finished third another half length away and Para-mode ended up fourth. The favorite, Carnival Cat, who was haltered from the race for ,000 by W. A. Johnson, lost all chance of victory, when impeded along the back-stretch. With apprentice Woody Slinker at the controls, Sussex Circle scurried the distance in 1:17% and returned 4.60. Helforhay, surprise winner of the first race, and Nother Speech, who captured the second race, compiled a Daily Double payoff of 87.20. Owned and bred by Leonard H.
