Six Juveniles Seek Potranco Purse Skeptical Kid Has 122-Pound Impost Engages Colonel Wilson and Almas Heart in Balmoral Five and Half Furlongs Dash WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, HI., June 13. — A half dozen juveniles of stakes calibre take the spotlight on Tuesdays eight-race card of the Balmoral Jockey Club, now in its final week of racing at Washington Park. The youngsters, including four Primer Stakes candidates, are slated to tangle in the Potranco, ,750, five and one-half furlongs dash billed as the sixth event. Weather permitting, racing secretary Frederick G. "Pat" Farrell has carded three grass events, two sprints and one distance affair, in addition to~ the feature and four other races. William Hal Bishops consistent Skeptical Kid will carry top weight of 122 pounds for Tuesdays Potranco sprint. The stakes-performing two-year-old must give nine pounds to each of his five rivals, including C. F. Morriss Colonel Wilson, who has been weighted nicely at 113 pounds. Others are Buddah Stables Derby John, Arthur Saucier, Jr. and R. W. Cashs Almas Heart, Ki Ki Stables Bol Question and Fred Hoopers Hoop Band. Those named for the Primer, opening day feature of Arlington Park next Monday, June 20, are Almas Heart, Hoop Band, Skeptical Kid and Colonel Wilson. Third Start at Meeting Colonel Wilson, making his third Balmoral start, comes off stakes-placings in both the Apprentice and Joliet. The colt ran second in the Apprentice, then took third place in the Joliet, both races being won by Tiger Wander. Before his Chicago invasion, Colonel Wilson scored his first clear cut win April 22 at Keeneland at four and one -half furlongs. Earlier he was second to Swoon Son at Gulfstream. but was boosted to the winners spot through disqualification. Skeptical Kid is another youngster coming off stakes efforts. The Fighting Step colt was unplaced in the recent Joliet sprint, the first time in nine starts the Bishop hope has failed to get in the money. Among his three wins is the Duncan Ken-ner Stakes at the Fair Grounds. He ran third in both the Lafayette and Apprentice stakes. Almas Heart will try for his second win of the year. The youngster was second last out here in a five-furlong dash won by Doc Eggers. It was his second Balmoral attempt, he having finished fifth in the Apprentice. He was unplaced in the Duncan Kenner at Fair Grounds behind Skeptical Kid. Dave Erb, back from his record-breaking ride aboard Swaps at Hollywood Park] will, guide Almas Heart Tuesday.
