Discuss New York-New Jersey Reciprocity Around the Track: John Machise, president of the New Jersey division of the HBPA, is going to New York Tuesday morning for a meeting with national president Irving Gushen on the matter of entry reciprocity between the New York and New Jersey tracks. . . . John Bond, secretary of the local horsemens organization, reports that a meeting of the executive committee will be held at the track kitchen Wednesday morning at lOa. m. . . . Frank Leatherbury returned to Alabama following Dark Peters victory in the Ocean ort. He and E. A. Roberts own the Clearwater Stable. . . . Pat Kelly, field representative of Crown Crest Farm, came over for the opening session from New York. Hell head for Kentucky today. . . . Henry Knight of Almahurst and Leslie Combs II. of Spendthrift represented the Kentucky breeders. . . . Henry Hechts Buffer, a seven-year-old Market Wise mare, broke a shoulder during a wprk yesterday morning and was destroyed. . . . Walter "Mouse" Blum has the mount on Irving Gushens good ■ Flushing H. colt, Star Rover, in Wednesdays Select. . . . W: E. Charles, secretary of the Florida division of the HBPA, stopped off en route to Chicago. He was in Canada earlier last week. Sterling Young of the Jockeys Guild drove down from Gotham. He notes that Sam Boulmetis and Ken Church, both directors of the Guilds Eastern division, will represent that organization at this meeting. . . . Tom Brogan and members of the New Jersey Racing Commission were on hand. . . . Sid Jacobs is back supervising the conditioning of the Jaclyn string and the horses of Alfred Roberts after a brief trip to Kentucky to inspect some young stock. . . . Danny Perl-sweig, the young trainer, saddled the meetings first winner in Letdown for the Treplow Stable. The outfit is owned by Jersey Citys Max Wolpert, who reversed his name. . . . Post time for Wednesday will be back from 2:30 p. m. to 2:40 because of a civil defense alert in the area scheduled from 2:05 to 2:15 p.m. All activities at the track will come to a halt during that period. . . . Basil James returned from Woodbine Park in Toronto, where he piloted Jack Begens Fleet Brenda in the Queens Plate. . . . Zoltan Gombos, chairman of the Ohio Racing Commission, and Maine Chances Elizabeth Graham were in the opening-day crowd.
