So Bet Me Accorded Edge For Overdue Detroit Win Waldo Andrews Sophomore Faces Rigolade, Tile King, Joan E. L. j By DON FAIR /Staff Correspondent DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 13. ā So Bet Me, a chestnut son of Saggy and Florence C, from the locally-owned Waldo D. Andrews stable, heads a field of seven useful three-year-olds slated to meet here Tuesday afternoon in the Brighton Rotary Purse. So Bet Me will have the saddle services of clever little Johnny Sellers and the Andrews colt is to answer "Boots and Saddles" favorably weighted under 108 pounds. So Bet Me, a fair class winner of three overnight engagements last year, failed thus far in the current campaign to reach the winners ring. The Andrews colt, however, looked, good here last week while finishing second to Wolf Stables Clamor in the six furlongs Marysville Purse. After taking an early lead, So Bet Me was unable to stay with Clamor but held on determinedly to save place honors in the sprint from Grace Kosibas Rigolade. The Kosiba stable filly, a daughter of Eternal Reward and Angrier, scored in a prior outing during the present local meeting and she was but a half length off So Bet Me in the Marysville. Partial to an "off" track, which unquestionably will prevail Tuesday, the Kosiba hope may take some beating. She gets in the feature with a feathery 103 pounds burden and jockey Evan Jenkins, one of the best journeymen lightweight race riders here, will be at the reins. Others expected to start in the Brighton Rotary are Ypsilanti Stables Argument, 106; Ralph A. Paracheks Tile King, 113, and James Paddocks Blue Now, 108 pounds. Also C. and P. Farms Joan E. L., 106, and C. A. and T. Asburys Peribrook, 108. The apprentice allowance is claimed for Argument, Blue Now, Joan E. Lā and, of course, So Bet Me. Young Bobby Bright, who has been flashing good riding" form, v/ill guide Argument in the Brighton Rotary, diminutive Larry Gilligan, who won the Rose Leaves Stakes last Saturday with Tonsina, is engaged for Blue Now, while apprentice Johnny Tracey will be in the irons on Joan E. L. Emil Roy is named on Tile King, slated to make his local seasonal debut, and Larney Hansman rides Peribrook.
