On the Wire — By Hugh J. McGuire Review of Balmoral Handicap Running Blue Choir Fancies Soft Turf Course Commend Daingerfield on SNARO Work WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 13. — At first glance it would appear that the running Saturday of the first Balmoral Turf Handicap would strengtnen tne ciaim mat imported horses hold a distinct advantage over domestic-breds in turf races, and it cannot be denied that the invaders are carrying before them many of the lush prizes for races over the grass. In the Balmoral, Mrs. Harry L. Nathensons Blue Choir, who was bred in Ireland and is by a French sire, was a rather convincing winner, while third went to another Celt, Salmon Peter, from Foothill Farms. There is no intent here to detract one iota from the success of Blue Choir, nor indeed from the prowess over grass of other imports, but neither is there seen room for discouragement of the American-breds.
