BLUE OPAL broke very badly, moved boldly to get within striking distance on the final turn, then continued on gamely to wear down SCOTCH ADELE. The latter assumed command along the backstretch and held sway to the final yards. DYNAMITE B broke tardily, encountered interference while rank and was unable to get to the top pair. HELICON raced forwardly placed but lacked the necessary response. MR. CHAUNCEY flattened out badly, as did PEAT SMOKE. DRY BONES and LITTLE ANGEL quit. Dynamite B claimed by H. L. Compton.
