►- Bubbley Beats Cerise Reine In Kentucky Oaks at Downs CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — Calumet Farms favored Bubbley emulated her sister, Real Delight, by winning the "Derby for Fillies" before a tremendous Derby eve crowd here this afternoon, overhauling the pacemaking Cerise Reine about the furlong pole and outfinish-ing her by a length and a quarter under Eddie Arcaros skillful guidance. The Rice filly had beaten Bubbley in the Ashland at Keeneland but was unable to make a weight concession of five pounds today, nevertheless ran a very creditable race and was a length and a quarter before Mrs. H. J. Damms surprising Arab Actress in taking the place award. Dixianas Windwhisper was a distant fourth, in a field of 11 of the countrys best three -year-old fillies assembled for this seventy-ninth running of the Oaks. Bubbley carried her 116 pounds over the mile and a sixteenth of "good" going in 1:45% and added 1,750 to her earlier earnings. Those in the estimated crowd of 30,000 who sent her to the post as the favorite were returned for in the "tote."
