Eighteen Three-Year-Old Fillies Seek Betsy Ross Meeting of Emardee and Is Proud Features 0,000 Camden Test By WILLIAM C. PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. Jā€ž May 1. ā€” A bumper crop of 18 classy sophomore f illies have been named overnight to the second running of the 0,000 added Betsy Ross Stakes that will feature the first Saturday program of the current meeting. Mrs. William Gilroys Emardee and Brookfield Farms Is Proud, with assignments of 121 ponuds, head the bulky field which, if all start, will be the largest to ever parade postward in the history of this course. The Betsy Ross is a scamper of six furlongs and was captured by Jouett Shouses Fleet Cinda when inaugurated last season. McDermott and Wellmans Task Fleet is placed five pounds under the top contenders under the Betsy Ross conditions, and the others are either shouldered with 111 or 106 pounds. Three stable couplings are contained and it is likely that at least two or three of the contestants will be withdrawn before tomorrows post time for the seventh race. Most prominent among the stable duos is the Brookfield Farm, which will be represented by Itsmay in addition to the highly respected Is Proud. There are several other debutantes worthy of mention. In this list is C. V. Whitneys Flamenco, a daughter of Mah-moud who has been sparingly campaigned, but reported fit and to have capable Sammy Boulmetis in the saddle. Silver Blue, owned and bred by J. J. Colando, was impressive winning an allowance test here just yesterday. Mrs. M. H. Hunters Cajole and C. D. Steiners Senga were impressive in their juvenile campaign, and Ridge Stables Slave Girl has some creditable efforts from a winter season in Florida.
