Dunn Rated as One of Best Conditioners in Far West T. W. "WALLY" DUNN, Correspondents trainer, is generally rated as one of the pest conditioners in the Par West. Although now an American citizen, he was born in Western Canada and, with his brothers, worked as a groom for the stable of Major Austin C. Taylor of Vancouver and played hockey in the winter. Dunn served with the famous Princess Pat regiment in the Canadian Army overseas for five years. His first "good horse" was the Irish-bred Ma-fosta, a stakes winner in the Far West and now a successful California sire. Gordon Guiberson hired him about four years ago to condition his race horses, but last winter, because Guiberson had only a few horses, Dunn opened a small public stable with mostly Canadian owners as patrons. He left the others in his charge with an assistant in California to make the Kentucky invasion with Correspondent. Dunn also saddled Arroz in last years Kentucky Derby.
