Tom Fool Works Dazzling Six Furlongs at Belmont Timed in 1:1245 on Sloppy Oval; Stars of Gallant Fox in Blowouts BELMONT PARK. Elmont, L. I.. N. Y., May 1. — Charfran Stables Crafty Admiral and Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords One Count were given half-mile "blowouts this morning in preparation for tomorrows Gallant Fox Handicap, while Greentree Stables Tom Fool, who will be awaiting them in the major handicaps at Belmont Park, worked a dazzling six furlongs over the sloppy track. Crafty Admiral was full of run as he breezed his half in :48, showing his usual liking for a wet track. One Count was hard held as he breezed the same distance in :51. Tom Fool worked alone with Ted Atkinson in the saddle and stepped his six furlongs in 1:13%, finishing in handy style, though he has never particularly appreciated a sloppy track and as a two-year-old could hardly stand up in such going. Tom Fools fractions were-:2245. :3445. :47 and :593. Greentree s Powhatan went a good mile in 1:40. after getting the half in :48:,5. and six furlongs in 1:1345. Tom Fool is expected to appear in the Toboggan down six furlongs on the straight cour.se when Belmont opens on Wednesday. Mr. Jeffords Kiss Me Kale, who is expected to pick up her topweight of 126 pounds in next Tuesdays Firenze Handicap, breezed the mile and a furlong distance of that stake in l:56-5 this morning. She was only asked to run in the final stages of the drill, stepping the last furlonff in :1225.
