RUGGED ODDS steadily improved his position to gain a contending position when straightened for the drive and closed with good courage. PLUTUS mate up some ground when hard ridden through the late stages. STRUTTING HIGH failed to respond when called upon for his best effort. BLENREIGH tired. TIDEWATER failed to stay. SMOCK, a sharp factor from the beginning, disposed of ANNA JARVIS when ready and n a long drive gamely withstood PEESHEBASH. The latter, slow to attain best stride, came out for the drive and under pressure was getting to the top one ANNA JARVIS much used early, had little left when the real test came. HER CHANCE raced evenly through the stretch without mishap. FOURLEAFCLOVER tired in the going. DOVER DOLL, fractious at the post was never dangerous during the running. MOON OVER ERIN was outrun. TURF outsprinted his rivals into the first turn to assume a slight early advantage, gradually drew clear of GUARD OF HONOR when straightened for the drive and continued on gamely under a mild hand ride. GUARD OF HONOR raced on near even terms with the winner to the furlong marker, tired thereafter and was unable to remain an endangering factor PUT OUT, far back early, started his belated bid on the final turn, closed willingly, but was no match for the leaders. ACTIVE DUTY made a game challenge at the head of the stretch, then weakened. COUNT TURF raced forwardly placed during the run down the backstretch, but failed to respond to pressure DELUGE never was dangerous. HEIRESS was forced to take up sharply when in close quarters on the far turn, took command with a rush when roused on the final turn and gradually increased her advantage under brisk urging. JENKINTOWN moved up boldly on the outside on the far turn to replace ROUGH NIGHT, gave way to the winner soon thereafter, then held on gamely to outfinish PHAROS FARE. The latter, far back during the early running, raced into contention entering the stretch then hung. TRINACRIA was never prominent. ROUGH NIGHT gave way suddenly after a half mile.
