JET FLEET, well placed after the initial quarter mile, was taken out slightly for the stretch run and, responding to strong handling, were down BAYBROOK in the last sixteenth. The latter went to the front early, set the pace until inside the stretch, then could not hold the winner and probably needed the race. POMACE, a keen factor from ten outset, raced well to the final furlong, then faltered. ROAMING saved ground at the stretch turn, but could not get to the leaders when set dewn in the drive. ROYAL MUSTANG disliked the slow track. SEAWARD began slugishly and was far back the entire trip. MODEL QUEST drifted out while tiring during the stretch run. OUR SUSAN, away alertly, suffered i.nld interference at the first turn, took command after three-eighths mile and, responding readily when ridden out through the stretch, won going away. PRANDIUM moved up boldly approaching the stretch, was unable to seriously threaten the top one, but was easily best of the others. BABY KATHY, in hand to the last quarter mile, could not get to the leaders when set down in the drive. LAMOUR, h stled between horses after the start to attain the lead, tired badly after three-quarter? mile. OCEAN SKY was throuqh early SUPER SPEED showed nothing. SEVEN GRACES raced wide. JUNIORS ACE went to the front early, set the pace for three-quarters mile, then weakened. CRAIGIE tired after showing early foot. WHISKEY JOHN was through early. LILAC disliked the slow track.
