Douglas Dodson Dodson, Many Times in Money, But Never in Charmed Circle JOCKEY DOUGLAS DODSON, Canadian-born reinsman, has ridden in several Derbys and has been close with several mounts, but never gained the charmed circle. Dodson was unplaced with Brown Rambler last year and with Big Stretch in the 1951 renewal of the Downs classic . Although he rode a well-judged race on C. V. Whitneys Mr. Trouble in 1950, the best his charge could do was third and, in the previous year, Wine List wound up thirteenth in a field of 14 starters. He was third with My Request in 1948 and third with Faultless in 1947. Dodson s initial appearance in the Derby was in 1945 when he finished second astride Pot o Luck behind Hoop, Jr. Ram o War will have Dodson s saddle services today.
