The latter moved up fast on the outside after the break, finished strongly under urging, but could not reach the top one. TEE VEE, never far back, was unable to reach the leaders when set down in the drive. SLEEKW00D made a mild bid entering the stretch, then faltered. MR. ALSIDE lacked early speed. HURRY HARRY began fast, made the pace to the stretch, then drifted out and could not stay with the winner. SILVERY gave a fair effort and had no mishap. TRIP NORTH was outrun. FAST TRAFFIC was never prominent. CRAFTY SLEUTH tired after showing early speed. KAREN L. began slowly. GRAND K. had no mishap. CADILLAC KING raced wide. DEE DEE BOOM was far back throughout. GREATEST, forwardly placed from the start, swerved to the inside when set down during the stretch run, disposed of WABASH MOON and held WISMO safe. The latter lacked early speed, appeared beaten when bothered slightly by GREATEST near the sixteenth-mile marker and could not keep up with the winner when clear. A foul claim by WISMOS rider against GREATEST was not allowed. WABASH MOON, well placed and saving ground from the beginning, faltered when challenged by GREATEST at the stretch turn. INCARNATION was hustled to the front early, set the pace while saving around to the stretch, then gamely withstood a long drive to hold JUST NELL safe JUST NELL, away fast, raced nearest INCARNATION throughout, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, closing strongly under punishment, was getting to the winner at the finish. KING moved up resolutely approaching the stretch but failed to rally when set down in the drive. DR. MILTON H. whs outrun. JET COMMAND lacked early foot and was never prominent.
