Hill Gail Exported to Ireland CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — Hill Gail, winner of the Derby in 1952, quit racing as a five-year-old and the same year was sold and exported to Ireland where he still serves as a stallion at Joseph McGraths stud. From his first crop came a colt which sold at Doncaster as a yearling in 1957 for 9,980. It was the highest price paid for a yearling at that sale, and the second highest price ever paid in Don-casters history. Hill Gail has proved a very good sire in Ireland.
