Select Miss Maryland Derby LAUREL, Md., May 1. — Miss Maryland Derby of 1959 is Linda Kay Sobel, who will be the guest of Laurel on Saturday when the 5,000 added Maryland Derby features the closing-day program. Miss Sobel, 20-year-old journalism major at the University of Maryland, is from Silver Springs and will be escorted by her parents. Laurel also will host Tom Canby, editor of the Montgomery County Sentinel, who conducted the Miss Maryland Derby contest in Montgomery County.
