Will Introduce Declaration Of Forfeit Soon in England Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, May 1 Reuters.— The Jockey Club will introduce the new late declaration of forfeit in English racing. Under the new ruling, which will be enforced in August, seven conditions for every race will provide for declaration of forfeit three days before the running as well as declaration with 14 days of running. It is estimated that owners can save over 54,000 in a season by declaring forfeit three days before running, thus only incurring only three-quarters of total liability. The totalisator boards bill for printing tickets will be cut by 6,400 in the first year, according to an estimate by the Jockey Club. At present, 70 per cent of tickets printed are wasted. The Jockey Club also estimates that there will be a drop of 0,400 in value of sweepstakes in a season and nearly 1,600 will be lost in entrance fees from plates.
