Maj. McDowells Achievement CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — Four years after his entry of Alan-a-Dale and The Rival ran first and third in the 1902 Kentucky Derby, Maj. Thomas C. McDowells entry of Kings Daughter and Lady Anne dpulicated that finish in the 1906 Kentucky Oaks. Not since the two races were started at Churchill Downs here in 1875 has any other owner matched the McDowell accomplishment of having an entry place in both races.
