DIE VALKYRIE survived a claim of foul lodged by the rider of SIR MODRED for allegea interference nearing the furlong marker. NONNIE JO moved boldly to gain command through the midstretch but was not quite good enough. SIR MODRED mov:d strongly along the inside to the upper stretch, altered course suddenly to the outside while lacking racing room and finished strongly. LAZY BOGAN tired from his early efforts. The latter, unhurried for the first half mile, came wide to finish full of run and be getting to the winner. YEMEN gave way suddenly after cutting out a swift pace to the early stretch.
