Sport Produced 22,049,651 in #58 The 24 states which have legalized racing received 22,049,651 in pari-mutuel revenue last year — a far cry from the ,024,193.31 gleaned in 1934. The 1959 American Racing Manual, now on sale, also reveals that last year marked tthe ninth consecutive season that the revenue to states has increased. All totals, which include revenue from the thoroughbred, harness and quarter-horse racing, were taken from the annual reports of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners.
