Penicuik ll.s Get Well Fancied CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — Calumet Farms Torocuik is the third foal from the imported mare Penicuik II. which that racing establishment nominated for the Kentucky Derby. Calumet bought the mare in England in 1940 when she was carrying a foal by Hyperion. Born at Calumet Farm, the foal was named Pensive and won the 1944 Derby. Cherokee Chief, a Calumet nominee for the 1956 Derby, also was a son of Penicuik II. Altair, a daughter of Penicuik n., is dam of Rare Rice, owned by Mrs. Ada L. Rice.
