JOHNS BID forged to the front on the far turn and gave way midway in the stretch. RETOBADO II. closed steadily while saving ground. BLAZING ROCKET, outrun in the early stages, closed steadily while saving ground in the last quarter, forged to the front entering the stretch and had enough to hold SHANNONS LEAP. The latter had the lead almost from the start, set the pace to the stretch, then gave way but came again in the last seventy yards. MISS ELENA moved up steadily in the final quarter while saving ground. UPSET BOOK improved position while racing between horses. ROVING CAESAR made up some ground while on the inside.
