LACE gained a position at once, raced along the outside and, while responding to pressure, proved slightly best while lugging in. BETTER BELIEVEIT, along the inside while within striking distance, was eased out between horses for the drive and narrowly missed. BOBLIN overcame a slow start to close full of run along the inside. DAWN OF CHI, in hand while being outrun early, moved willingly when called upon in the stretch and gained a narrow decision. SCHOOLMASTER, always prominent, moved to the fore from between horses in the early stretch and just failed to last in a long drive. SUPERIOR MISS appeared to hang slightly after making a strong bid along the inside in the upper stretch. RICOROMA passed onl ytiring horses. BLESS MY HEART tired badly from her early efforts. WEDLOCK, restrained off the fast early pace of WAYWARD MISS, moved to that one midway of the second turn, responded to turn back AESTHETIC on entering the stretch and was fully extended to hold her commanding lead. RAYS FAIRY GOLD, unhurried to the final quarter mile, where she rallied from between horses and finished with good courage. AESTHETIC moved rather boldly through the upper stretch but could not sustain her bid. NEW STAR moved fast along the outside rounding the second turn, bore out badly through the stretch run and could not menace. MAID OSTEEL was impeded in the upper stretch when NEW STAR bore out.
