Seventh Time on May 2 CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., ! May 1. — This year will mark the seventh I time that the Kentucky Derby has been run on May 2. It was first run on this date in 1903, was subsequently run on the same date in 1904, 1906, 1946, 1942, and I I 1953. The famous race at Churchill Downs I ! has been run an equal number of times on only two other dates, May 3 and May 6. The 1958 running was on May 3, and the last time the race was run on May 6 was in 1950. The race has been run six times on May 4, and no more than five times on any other date.
