Dark Star Hurt in Preakness CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — Dark Star, made only one start following his Kentucky Derby triumph. He broke down in the Preakness Stakes, was returned to Claiborne Farm at Paris. His first foals raced as two-year-olds in 1957 when he had out eight winners-, including Carrie Louise, which placed in stakes. In 1958, Dark Star was the sire of eleven two-year-old winners from twenty-three foals.
