Round Table Impressive In Short Balmoral Spin Kerr Money Champion Drills Half Mile in :49 at Washington Park HOMEWOOD, 111., May 1.— Kerr Stables Round Table, having been pronounced at his physical peak after recovering from both a quarter crack and another hoof injury, embarked seriously on his comeback trail at Washington Park this morning when he breezed for the first time. The handsome stallion stepped a half mile in :49 over a fast track, then was eased an additional furlong, which was timed in 1:02. Carl Rizzo, his regular exercise boy, was in the saddle. The worlds leading money-winning thoroughbred was accompanied on the track by his trainer, Bill Molter, astride a stable pony. Round Table galloped slowly to the quarter pole, where he was allowed to break off and he was eased after passing the seven-eighths pole. James Milner. He seemed anxious to break away throughout the trial, but Rizzo managed to check him. I am told he usually wears blinkers in all breezes and in the races." Tall Chief II. and Fightin Indian, also worked. Both are being prepared for Balmoral stakes. Tall Chief went three-quarters of a mile in 1:17, and Fightin Indian stepped the same distance in 1:18%.
