PENSIVE GIGI went to the front at once and, establishing a good lead in the early stretch responded readily during the drive and held WIRES END safe. The latter raced evenly for a half mile and closed fast in the middle of the track but could not overtake the top one. INA BATTLE, prominent to the stretch tired during the drive. BATTLING HANNAH lacked early foot and drifted out during the stretch run. SOLID GOLD had early speed but failed to stay. MY JANICE disliked the sloppy track. WINSOME WAYS was through early. CARTWHEELS saved ground while engaging VIXENS JOY, responded to strong handling during the stretch run and disposed of the latter in the last strides. VIXENS JOY, away fast, went to the front entering the stretch and settled for the drive with a short advantage but could not withstand the winner, just missing. SET PATTERN lacked early speed but closed fast. PUFFY raced evenly without mishap. BETSY STAR, prominent to the stretch, drifted out during the drive. PELLITA and ELLIOTTS HONEY were never dangerous. FRIENDLY WITCH raced well but was not good enough for the winner WHITE GLOVES lacked early speed but finished strongly. ROYAL TREAT began slowly. MILJAY could not handle the sloppy track. CHEROKEE CHIEF lacked early foot and could not threaten the leaders during the drive ROMAN LEAGUE had early speed but failed to stay. SERCIAL went to the front soon after the start and made the pace until challenged by CHARMADOR and then gave way. JESPER appeared sore during the post parade and failed to enter serious contention.
